Editing Simple English pages[change source]

Welcome to my talk page! New user? here are some tips to keep in mind when editing on Simple English Wikipedia:

  • Clarity is Key: Aim for clear and straightforward language to enhance accessibility for a diverse audience.
  • Use Everyday Language: Opt for words and expressions commonly used in everyday communication rather than overly technical or formal language.
  • Provide Context: Ensure that your contributions include enough context for readers who may be unfamiliar with the topic.
  • Be Concise: Keep your edits concise and to the point. Avoid unnecessary details that may overwhelm readers.
  • Link to Simple Definitions: When using technical terms, consider linking to Simple Wikipedia definitions to aid comprehension.
  • Encourage Collaboration: Welcome input and collaboration from others. Wikipedia is a collaborative platform, and diverse perspectives can improve content.
  • Verify Information: Double-check the accuracy of information before adding or editing. Reliable sources are essential for maintaining the credibility of articles.
  • Use Edit Summaries: Include clear and concise edit summaries to provide a quick overview of your changes.
  • Refer to Style Guidelines: Familiarize yourself with the Simple Wikipedia Manual of Style to maintain consistency across articles.
  • Avoid Jargon: Minimize the use of jargon or specialized terminology. If necessary, provide explanations or link to simpler definitions.

LTA GRP reporting[change source]

Hello! Please note that GRP switches his IPs so rapidly that reporting him to WP:VIP would be useless. It can clog up the page which is why there is an abuse filter that prevents this in SRG. It's unfortunate that GRP is still vandalizing since 2005, but User:Antandrus is doing something about it. Cyclonical (talk) 05:00, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it is totally useless to report the LTA in WP:VIP. The sooner they are blocked, the better. It is good to know that something is being done about it. Thanks for letting me know. – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 13:18, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think there is a channel in IRC for reporting such users though, but for now I feel like we will just have to deal with him. However reverting his edits is the most fun part lol, its like a competition to see who is the fastest at reverting Cyclonical (talk) 14:27, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, lol! Racing to revert his edits does add a bit of excitement. – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 07:13, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
