Decentralization

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Decentralization or decentralisation is the transfer of powers from a national government into the possession of the country's non-sovereign or semi-sovereign local governments of administrative divisions (state, provincial, municipal etc.) or to private entities or the citizens themselves.

Decentralization can also refer to a similar process of decentralizing power within a non-governmental organization such as a corporation.
